Leann Iacuone, Principal

 Iacuone Dr. Iacuone graduated with a Bachelors of Science from the University of South Carolina where she also earned a minor in Athletic Training. She proceeded to Furman University where she was a graduate assistant and earned a Master of Arts in Education. Leann began working as a Certified Athletic Trainer and Science teacher in Laurens, South Carolina where she spent the next 13 years and earned her Doctorate of Philosophy from Clemson University in 2015. Dr. Iacuone became part of RUSD in 2013 when she joined John W. North High School as an Assistant Principal and then transitioned to serve as an Assistant Principal at Martin Luther King High School in 2017. In 2021, Leann moved to Instructional Services where she served as the Assistant Principal of College and Career Readiness. Leann excels in developing and implementing academic programs to create optimal learning environments and educational opportunities for students. She is deeply committed to the mission of educational equity and has a clear understanding of the importance of preparing students for college, career, and overall readiness of the world. Dr. Iacuone is thrilled to return to her MLKHS Family as Principal.

Amanda Chann, Assistant Principal (Athletics)

Mrs. Chann is a twenty-seven year educator, who has held numerous roles during her tenure. She is a 1996 graduate of Southern Connecticut State University where she double majored in English and education while participation in Division II cross country and track. She began her career at Rubidoux High School in 1996 as an English teacher and cross country/track coach and later served RHS as the athletic director, later becoming the activities director as well. In 2006, with high school athletics as her passion, Mrs. Chann earned her Masters of Science degree in Kinesiology with emphasis in Sport Management from California Baptist University. Mrs. Chann was the assistant principal over athletics and activities at Redlands East Valley High School before coming to Martin Luther King High School in 2016 to be the assistant principal of attendance, activities and testing. For the past four years she served the Orangecrest community as the principal at Amelia Earhart Middle School, and is looking forward to continuing her relationships with this great community back at MLKHS in her newest role. She believes high school is the gateway to a successful future for all students; and MLKHS is just the place to open those doors! She is excited about being back at a school which strives to provide a healthy, productive, challenging and inviting experience for all students, staff and community members. She is the mother of Dathan, a 2019 Martin Luther King High School graduate & varsity athlete, and the wife of Dr. Keith Chann, assistant principal of athletics at Temescal Canyon High School.

  Larry Harris, Assistant Principal (Student Support Services Grades 9-10)

Prior to becoming an Assistant Principal at Martin Luther King High School, Mr. Harris taught Spanish for 7 years at San Bernardino High School. Mr. Harris served as a Link Crew Coordinator, a BSU advisor, and a Climate and Culture advisor. Mr. Harris has educated and mentored several hundred at risk students. In 2004, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business from California State University, San Bernardino, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish. He then went on to earn his Master's in Public Administration from California State University, San Bernardino in 2009. Mr. Harris and his wife, Blanca, have 3 children. Mr. Harris is passionate about education and is excited to be a part of the ML King High School team.

  Cherilynne Hollowell, Assistant Principal (Attendance and Testing)

Dr. Hollowell has served in several capacities during her eighteen-year educational career. Her professional career, however, did not start in education. After earning her Associate of Arts degree in Police Science from Fullerton College, Dr. Hollowell went on to attend Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia, where she double majored in history and political science and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. Dr. Hollowell has been a residential counselor, transition manager, and the hiring and training manager of a 156-bed group home. Immediately prior to becoming a full-time teacher, Dr. Hollowell worked as an Avon District Sales Manager. FINALLY, recognizing that her true calling was to be an educator, she enrolled at and received her teaching credential from California State University, Fullerton. Later, Dr. Hollowell went on to receive her Master of Arts degree in History from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and her Doctorate of Education degree from Brandman University (part of the Chapman University System) in Organizational Leadership where her dissertation focused on Culturally Responsive School Leadership. She began her teaching career as a History-Social Science teacher at John W. North High School (JWNHS). While at JWNHS, Dr. Hollowell served in numerous roles including Mock Trial teacher coach, BSU mentor coordinator, Attendance TOSA, AVID Site Team members, and co-department chair. Dr. Hollowell taught a variety of courses including AP U.S. History for 11 years, U.S. History in both the Education and Human Services and the Global Business and Information Technology Academies, AP Government, AP Macroeconomics, World History, and 10th - and 11th-grade AVID Elective classes - to name a few. For the past two years, she has proudly and wholly served the staff, students, and families as the Assistant Principal at Sierra Middle School. Dr. Hollowell currently serves as a dissertation committee member and adjunct faculty at the University of Massachusetts Global and as an adjunct professor at California Baptist University. Dr. Hollowell and her husband, Eric, are parents to three adult children and grandparents to one precious little boy. She is extremely excited to join the Martin Luther High School family!

Charles Hyde, Assistant Principal (Guidance/Curriculum and Instruction)

Mr. Hyde graduated from Azusa Pacific University (APU) with a degree in Mathematics and Math/Physics. He continued at APU and earned a Masters in Education in Educational Technology and eventually a Masters of Arts in School Administration. He began his career in education teaching math and coaching basketball at Etiwanda High School in 1996. Charles joined the RUSD family in 2004 as a Staff Development Specialist, Math 4-8. This role transitioned into Educational Technology Staff Development Specialist and then as an admin designee at Riverside Virtual School (RVS) when it was created. He spent 8 years helping develop RVS before transitioning to Ramona High School as an Assistant Principal. Mr. Hyde spent 5 years at Ramona before moving to the Instructional Services department to serve as the Assistant Principal of Data Quality & Guidance Support. As circumstances changed he stepped into the Coordinator of Virtual Programs position to lead the virtual option for students wanted to stay at home throughout the COVID pandemic. Charles had the privilege of serving as the 9-12 Principal for Riverside Virtual School before electing to return to the role of Assistant Principal at the Educational Options Center. He is thrilled to bring his talents and experience to the Martin Luther King community. Mr. Hyde brings a wide and varied background that will be an asset to the students and staff of MLKHS. He is a systems person and has a track record of leading guidance teams and initiatives focused on improving student engagement and achievement. He is the father of 3: Brenson (a junior at UCLA), Camden (a senior at Rancho Cucamonga HS), and Dawson (a freshman at Rancho Cucamonga HS). He has been married to his beautiful bride, Karen, for nearly 26 years.

Mrs. Krueger graduated in 1984 from California State University Fullerton and immediately began her teaching career at Arlington High School. She taught Physical Education, Dance, and coached the Dance Team during her time as a lion. In her fifteen years at Arlington, she helped choreograph NFL football half-time shows and the Olympic opening ceremonies then in the summer she would travel to Sendai, Japan where she taught dance for five years. In 1987 she was named the Activities Director at Arlington where she remained until 1999 when she was hired as King's first Activities Director. In 2005 she stepped away from teaching and enjoyed raising her own children. Eight years ago, she once again returned to King High as the Activities Director. She lives with her husband and has five children. Four of her kids, Kaylee, Deantre, and Carl, all graduated from Arizona State University. Her youngest Kassie, played basketball for and graduated from California State University Los Angeles. In addition she has three grandchildren.
