Description: In Principles of Marketing, students gain knowledge and skills in the areas of the Business Environment, Business Management, Marketing, Business Finance, Personal Finance and Career Development. Students develop an understanding of the functions of marketing and how these functional areas affect all businesses. They learn basic marketing concepts and the role of marketing in our economy. This course allows students to reinforce, apply, and transfer academic knowledge and skills to a variety of interesting and relevant activities, problems and settings in business and marketing.

Prerequisite: Principles of Marketing


Description: This course provides the experience and skills needed to obtain employment in a variety of retail stores and in the fashion industry. Classroom instruction includes cash register operation, salesmanship, customer service, visual merchandising, store security and loss prevention, merchandising, stocking and receiving, personal development, and job search. Training programs may be directed to meet students’ individual needs and interests, depending upon community training sites available. Training sites may include department stores, food and drug stores, specialty stores, and on-campus student stores.

Prerequisite: Principles of Marketing


Description: This instructional program prepares individuals to master marketing foundations and apply principles to the unique characteristics of the sports and entertainment marketing field. The curriculum will cover an introduction to both beginning and advanced level marketing concepts and is designed to prepare students for future careers or a college-level program in Sports and Entertainment Marketing. Topics will include sports and entertainment, career and college exploration, college and amateur sports, professional sports, recreation, the entertainment industry, advertising and promotion, and public relations.
