Mrs. Chann is a twenty-seven year educator, who has held numerous roles during her tenure. She is a 1996 graduate of Southern Connecticut State University where she double majored in English and education while participation in Division II cross country and track. She began her career at Rubidoux High School in 1996 as an English teacher and cross country/track coach and later served RHS as the athletic director, later becoming the activities director as well. In 2006, with high school athletics as her passion, Mrs. Chann earned her Masters of Science degree in Kinesiology with emphasis in Sport Management from California Baptist University. Mrs. Chann was the assistant principal over athletics and activities at Redlands East Valley High School before coming to Martin Luther King High School in 2016 to be the assistant principal of attendance, activities and testing. For the past four years she served the Orangecrest community as the principal at Amelia Earhart Middle School, and is looking forward to continuing her relationships with this great community back at MLKHS in her newest role. She believes high school is the gateway to a successful future for all students; and MLKHS is just the place to open those doors! She is excited about being back at a school which strives to provide a healthy, productive, challenging and inviting experience for all students, staff and community members. She is the mother of Dathan, a 2019 Martin Luther King High School graduate & varsity athlete, and the wife of Dr. Keith Chann, assistant principal of athletics at Temescal Canyon High School. |
